Support Child Abuse Prevention 2023

Building Together: Prevention in Partnership

April is National Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Month, a time when child wellness and child welfare organizations across the U.S. elevate the importance of creating systems and programs that put children and families first. The theme of this year’s awareness and impact campaign is “Building Together: Prevention in Partnership.” Each day is an opportunity to build the foundation for our future. We all have a role to play as healthy partners in our communities, not just in April but all year.

CAP Month 2023 Building Together

Throughout CAP Month, Prevent Child Abuse America and KCSL are using the metaphor of building blocks and construction to reinforce the concept that prevention cannot and does not happen alone. Instead, communities must build positive futures together in partnership.

message from Gail building together

Every April, we raise awareness about child abuse prevention. However, this work is ongoing and constant. We must continue to be diligent in supporting families no matter the circumstances. We must also recognize that both parents AND children need support, encouragement and someone to believe in them.
