A Message from Gail
October is Head Start Awareness Month. This month, we recognize the impact KCSL’s early childhood education services have on children, families and communities. KCSL’s CEO Gail Cozadd reflects on how the benefits of these services extend far beyond the classroom. Children gain high-quality learning experiences that prepare them for school and life. Families also receive support that strengthens confidence, builds parenting skills and encourages leadership. By empowering parents, the program creates stronger families and lasting opportunities for success.
The impact is reflected in stories like Beatriz Alvarado’s. After her children participated in KCSL’s Head Start services, she became a volunteer and community partner who now helps support other families. We’re grateful for our staff, educators and family advocates. Their work strengthens families, supports children and builds stronger communities every day.
