Kansas Children’s Service League (KCSL) is excited to welcome Jeri Hewitt as the new chair of our Board of Directors. After a 40-year career in banking, including leadership roles at Emprise Bank and Chisholm Trail State Bank, Jeri brings both professional expertise and a deep personal passion for supporting children and families. Her journey with KCSL began after her children were adults, and she sought new ways to give back.
“I felt a strong desire to contribute to an organization that supports children and young families,” Jeri said. “What drew me to volunteer with KCSL was its unwavering mission to help and promote the well-being of children and families. That purpose felt deeply personal to me.”
Jeri’s mother, a teacher for more than 40 years, was also a founding member of several nonprofits in their hometown of Beloit, Kansas. Her mother’s quiet leadership and dedication to the community have guided Jeri throughout her life, both personally and professionally. As she steps into this new leadership role, Jeri is most excited about the momentum building behind KCSL’s work.
“There’s a renewed energy in the way KCSL is finding ways to support families, prevent child abuse and empower communities to take proactive roles in children’s well-being,” Jeri said.
Jeri is also a passionate advocate for volunteerism and community engagement. She helped found the Andover Central High School Booster Club and created a regional network of compliance professionals in Kansas. Now, she sees her role at KCSL as a way to unite people around a shared purpose.
“If you’re looking for a way to make a real difference, KCSL offers an incredible opportunity to change lives for the better,” Jeri said. “Your involvement becomes part of a mission that reaches deep into our communities, helping children and families succeed.”
Jeri lives in Wichita, where she enjoys spending time with her husband, adult children and four energetic grandchildren. Whether she’s cheering from the sidelines at their events or visiting family in Colorado, Jeri treasures every moment and brings that same heart to her work at KCSL. As Board Chair, she looks forward to working alongside KCSL’s dedicated staff, volunteers and supporters.
“I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to our staff, volunteers and donors who contribute tirelessly to our mission,” Jeri said. “The generosity of our donors empowers us to expand our programs and reach more families in need, and I am deeply grateful for your support, which has a lasting impact on our communities.”
