The Red Stocking Breakfasts fund Kansas Children’s Service League’s prevention and early education services in the communities which host the events. Most of these programs receive government and other grants, as well as support from local United Ways, but rely on monies raised by the Red Stocking Breakfasts to fully provide services. By attending a Red Stocking Breakfast, you help support the following programs:

Community Resource Library – Wide variety of child and family-related information offered to prevention of child abuse affiliates, professionals and parents at no charge.

Outpatient Mental Health Services – Short-term therapeutic interventions for children and families. Targeted Infant/Toddler Mental Health Services.

Early Head Start – Weekly home visitation supporting parents with children’s health, safety, and development, while helping new and expectant parents adjust.

Head Start – Comprehensive early childhood learning and development program for 3 and 4 year olds including children with disabilities from income-eligible families. Offers center and home-based services in 10 western Kansas counties.

Healthy Families – Intensive, in-home parenting support for new parents of 0 to 3 year olds overburdened by such risk factors as unemployment, lack of parenting skills, and family history of abuse and neglect.

Kinship Navigator – A focused case management program for grandparents and other relatives raising children.

Parent Helpline 1-800-CHILDREN – Anonymous, statewide, free, information, referral and phone counseling service available anytime, any day to parents, relatives, caregivers, and professionals.

Parents Helping Parents Support Groups – Statewide network of parent, grandparent, and kinship-care support facilitated by trained volunteers who are parent leaders in the state.
